Pozzolanic additives greatly change the performance of non-hydraulic lime mortars and plasters giving improved strength and durability. Pozzolans are not cementitious but they contain various constituents which combine with lime to produce a chemical set. Metastar is produced by the calcination of refined china clay above 750C. Metastar is the most reactive of pozzolanic materials.

Polestar is a fine dust therefore the use of a face mask is advisable.

To be mixed with lime mortar immediately before use. Add at 5% by volume to mortar, this can be increased to 7.5% or 10% for certain circumstances.
