Pozzolanic additives greatly change the performance of non-hydraulic lime mortars and plasters giving improved strength and durability. Pozzolans contain reactive silicates which react with lime and induce a hydraulic reaction. The crushed brick dust supplied by us is fired at 850C and complies with the English Heritage theory that for best results a low fired brick should be used.

Crushed brick dust is by its very nature a fine dust therefore the use of a face mask is advisable.

Can be mixed in slurry form or dry with lime mortar but should be used immediately. Mixes in the ratio of 1:3:1 ( lime, sand, brickdust) have proved most successful.
